About the Role - The Senior Accountant works as a member of the back-office team, which provides financial, accounting, and operational services for IGSB clients. This position will report to the Vice President of Finance and Operations and will have responsibilities covering a broad spectrum of tax, investment, and accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background with experience in private equity, investment management, or financial services.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate bank transfers and oversee cash management to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and investments.
- Prepare weekly accounts payable for multiple clients and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Post all cash or credit card transactions daily to the accounting system and reconcile accounts as needed.
- Settle purchases and sales of publicly traded securities as directed, ensuring accurate recordkeeping.
- Maintain and update schedules of insurance policies, property taxes, active entities, and active accounts.
- Process and submit household property tax payments semi-annually.
- Collaborate on the month-end close process, including reconciliations, financial reporting preparation, and variance analysis.
- Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for client’s household employees.
- Coordinate new investment funding for private companies, including capital contributions and funding requests.
- Process capital contributions and distributions for investment partnerships, ensuring accuracy in investor allocations.
- Utilize data analytics and automation tools to improve financial reporting, investment tracking, and operational efficiencies.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, financial insights, and optimize decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
- Experience with data science, analytics, or financial modeling preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounting, preferably within private equity, venture capital, or investment management.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
- Ability to quickly learn complex investment portfolio accounting systems.
