Summary of Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance Officer to join our team. You will play a critical role in ensuring our strategic initiatives and departmental processes align with regulatory requirements and internal procedures. You will lead complex risk-based conversations, provide clear explanations of compliance requirements, discuss risks and potential controls, and support the organization in making informed decisions.
Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a financial institution.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in compliance, risk, or controls audit testing.
- Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certification through CUNA
Main Responsibilities:
- Represent Risk, Fraud, and Compliance in strategic project meetings, ensuring new initiatives comply with regulations.
- Act as the primary contact for ERM-related questions and facilitate timely responses.
- Answer complex compliance questions and review research conducted by team members.
- Manage and maintain an updated CMS, providing monthly reports on compliance risk.
- Review marketing ads for compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Serve as the credit union's expert in tax reporting for the IRS, handling CP2100 and other correspondence.
- Maintain the record retention schedule, ensuring regulatory compliance while minimizing risk.
- Track and implement finalized regulations affecting the credit union and its members.
- Monitor emerging litigation risk and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
- Build strong relationships with all areas of the credit union.
- Assist CUSO credit unions with compliance questions and provide updates on regulatory topics.
- Stay informed on compliance trends, legal requirements, and industry developments through training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary : $70,000 - $85,000
