Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages the day-to-day administrative operations of the BRSS.
◦ Will involve the BRSS administrative staff as needed to carry out specific responsibilities. - Assumes direct supervisory responsibilities for BRSS administrative staff and conducts annual review of the BRSS administrative staff.
- Serves as professional staff on-call outside of business hours during overnight and weekends.
◦ This is a rotating responsibility shared among the BRSS administrative team. - Communicates regularly with McKinley Health Services, the Counseling Center, Dean of Students, University Housing, and other University units as to the needs of BRSS residents, and how they might be best supported.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and refinement of the program’s strategic goals.
- Advises and implements BRSS marketing and resident recruitment plan, in partnership with University Housing,
◦ designed to enhance awareness of BRSS programs and services locally, regionally, and nationally to disabled prospective students and their families, vocational rehabilitation professionals, transition counselors, and other critical stakeholders. - Responsible for the ongoing refinement of internal service policies, procedures, and practices.
- Support BRSS personnel in the determination of resident health and safety needs.
- • Assist in and/or perform significant daily duties of the administrative staff, when necessary;
◦ BRSS administrative team functions as a team with crossover to support one another as needed. - • Participate in the development and implementation of disability education training on the Illinois campus. • Assist in maintaining content on the BRSS website and social media pages. ◦ Will serve as the BRSS contact for the DRES staff lead website designer.
- • Work collaboratively with the Director, DRES to develop and update a research plan and assume primary responsibility in implementing the plan within DRES to include AHS and other related academic Colleges/program colleagues.
• Serve as BRSS liaison to other campus departments/units as needed.
• Oversee the development and enforcement of “Letter of Expectation” for residents in violation of BRSS community regulations and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned and appropriate.
