Duties & Responsibilities
Research Programs Management and Coordination (60%)
- Provide leadership and operational/logistical support, working closely with the Program Leaders, the Cancer Center Director, Deputy Director, and CCIL administration. This includes program meetings, seminars, symposiums, poster sessions, and committees.
- Facilitate intra and inter program collaborations and provide ongoing oversight for operational aspects of CCIL research programs. This includes system design and implementation of operational aspects and subsequent oversight and accountability for logistical, financial, compliance, and reporting aspects.
- Support programs which require cross-functional engagement with key staff from across the CCIL and university and with external stakeholders as appropriate.
- Maintain a service orientation, identify the needs and quality expectations of all “stakeholders” and develop mechanisms to meet them.
Liaison Activities (20%)
- Coordinate with CCIL Administrative leadership to ensure research programs, education activities, collaborative projects and programs, DEI initiative, and CCIL funding initiatives are seamlessly integrated with CCIL priorities and operations.
- Provide direction, communication, reporting, and guidance to investigators to facilitate logistical and financial aspects of funded projects.
- Proactively reach out to target audiences at UIUC and our clinical partner institutions to promote CCIL programs to build strong interdisciplinary research teams with a focus on developing novel, center-level research proposals.
- Facilitate the submission of center grant proposals to external agencies that specifically involve collaborations amongst CCIL members.
Analysis and Reporting (20%)
- Provide support and operational analysis to administration and scientific leadership at the CCIL regarding awarded scientific projects, financial and compliance issues, and program logistics.
- Maintain ongoing oversight and analysis to ensure that programs continue to support the long-term goals and strategic objectives of the CCIL and specifically of the research and educations programs of the CCIL, with specific focus on enhancing cancer research excellence. This includes the development and continued production of appropriate metrics and analytical reporting to the leadership and participants of these research efforts.
- Development, maintenance, and reporting leadership of metrics for program success including proposal data, collaboration information, future directions, project productivity, and Return on Investment.
