Duties & Responsibilities
Sponsored Research Management and Grant Proposal Support
- Analyze, align, and strategically match organizational strengths with short term emphasis and long-term directions of funding agencies.
- Identify new interdisciplinary research opportunities and provide support in the development of new major research initiatives.
- Conduct targeted grant searches and provide grant development and processing support for faculty in the social and behavioral sciences, track active and upcoming solicitations and programs.
- Maintain information on proposal preparation requirements for relevant federal, state, and local sponsors, as well as private foundations and industry partners.
- Identify common and complementary research interests; assemble teams to address research and funding opportunities.
- Keep abreast of emerging research themes and have a holistic view to determine best future initiatives for the organization.
Research Support and Faculty Collaboration Management
- Work collaboratively with CSBS faculty in catalyzing and coordinating new research programs and research community-building initiatives; act as a liaison to stakeholders serving as subject matter experts.
- Provide faculty with elements of research planning to help them strategically approach research and funding opportunities.
- Establish relationships with early career faculty with research expertise or interests related to CSBS focal areas.
- Assess the needs of early career faculty and help them navigate strategic proposal development to align with their program of research.
Infrastructure Support
- Coordinate interdisciplinary workshops to provide faculty across disciplines with an interactive forum to facilitate synergistic collaborations and explore resources and services to spearhead innovative research endeavors.
- Provide organizational support to interdisciplinary, faculty-initiated social and behavioral interest groups.
- Identify research challenges (e.g., recruitment) and existing inefficiencies (e.g., process improvement) and help develop solutions to better facilitate social and behavioral science research.
- Serve as the CSBS liaison for relevant programs on and off campus.
Other
- Contribute to research dissemination and translation of CSBS affiliated social and behavioral research to enhance the impact of the research through public engagement.
