About The Role:

The Ticket Agent is responsible for assisting visitors with information and sales of tickets to our exhibits and experiences. The Ticket Agent interacts with guests and highlights the experience which we want visitors to have. Ticketing is the introduction to the main event. This individual must be positive, initiate and engage our guests by providing friendly and helpful service. This individual knows how to talk to people and will upsell the experiences based upon our guests’ desires. Team members hired into this role will be required to hit sales KPIS.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Learns and works the ticketing system
  • Process ticket transactions for guests
  • Assists guests with their questions and concerns
  • Upsells VIP experience and various items to enhance the experience.
  • Up to date on all show and venue location information to include third party ticketing distribution channels, show enhancements, and all campaigns and package.
  • Anticipates guest’s needs regarding show upgrades and enhancements.
  • Communicates well with guests, fellow team members and leadership.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and service ability communicate well with guests, fellow team members and leadership.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Collect money, while following all proper cash handling and comp procedures
  • Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and the appearance of the box office
  • Perform opening and closing duties based upon shift assignment
  • Listen and resolve guest complaints within scope of position; otherwise, refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested.
  • Knowledge of ticketing menu, ticketing packages and offerings
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use varied Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Cash handling and experience with proper bank
  • Able to handle multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays PREFERRED
  • Six months of guest services and sales experience preferred.
  • Physical, mental, and environmental demands include a loud, fast paced environment which requires standing for up to and beyond 8 hours, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, and reaching throughout the shift. Position may also require lifting to 25 lbs. with bending at the waist like motions.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to function in high-pressure situations.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer.
  • Correctable vision and hearing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Clear, easy to understand oral communication ability.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally for the purpose of moving equipment on and off shelves.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
  • Ability to sit for long periods.
  • Capability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Skilled in the use of computer and office equipment.
  • Proficient in activities requiring manual dexterity of both hands.
  • Primarily an onsite position.
