Performance Expectations (Quality and Quantity):


Shall demonstrate the use of appropriate knowledge/skills/abilities and judgment and provide therapeutic relationship and therapeutic services that evidence quality, performance, and meet the needs of persons served.


Performance tasks shall include:


The Qualified Professional will perform complex duties in managing services for individuals served and their families. IMPACT of the Piedmont (IMPACT) serves individuals with mental health challenges and/or intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The Qualified Professional is responsible for the quality and integrity of the individualized plans, service delivery, progress analysis and documentation of service delivery. The Qualified Profession trains the Direct Support Professionals and provides consistent supervision and support. The Qualified Professional works with community resources and staff to develop and implement a structured and meaning day. The Qualified Professional ensures effective communication among the treatment team and with the Director.


This position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. This position will also interact/involved with QM and the Board.

Responsibilities:
  • Improve the operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the mission of IMPACT. Specifically, support better management reporting, information flow, business process and organizational planning.
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of support services through improvements to each function as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
  • Provide input to long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Develop Supervision plans, follow through with the plan while giving guidance, expectations, resources and feedback to staff.
  • Provide all Qualified Professional duties under state and federal guidelines.
  • Educate the community on the program, screen referrals and complete admissions.
  • Oversee all clinical aspect of services, development of PCP, ISP Short Term Goals, medication records, medical charts in accordance with current Medicaid guidelines.
  • Oversee all clinical documentation including specific training necessary for staff members.
  • Ensure the plan is implemented as outlined in the PCP or ISP.
  • Provider crisis response/emergency and staffing assistance as indicated.
  • Serve as advocate, liaison to ensure opportunity and the highest quality of life for individuals served by IMPACT.
  • Shall ensure that complete accurate service record documentation that clearly communicates the service(s) provided and consumer progress.
  • Shall ensure all personnel records are kept current with all training.
  • Seek additional training resources as needs indicate.
  • Responsibility of assisting with human resources-ensure review of time worked, mileage and training accurate and timely.
  • Documentation shall maintain compliance with organizational policy/procedures, purchaser of service requirements (NC Division of MH/DD/SA, DMA/Medicaid, MCO); and accrediting/ regulatory bodies (CARF and NC Statute/ASPM rules).
  • Activities may include attending/participating in community meetings/activities with the goal of increasing referrals; providing education and information regarding behavioral health disorders, programs, and services; and working with community stakeholders to design new and improved behavioral health therapy services.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Licensed Programs and/or Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of government contract management and knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing staff groups and major projects or initiatives.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, self-awareness with maturity and professionalism and a collaborative management style.
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.

  • Excellent people manager, open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment completion of duties. Confident with commitment to ongoing learning and growth.

  • At least 2 years full-time accumulated MH/DD/SUD experience with the population served.
  • Must have the ability to effectively hear and communicate with other employees, the public, and persons served.
  • Being "on call" is required as part of this position, to include the provision of crisis intervention/management services to consumers in need.
  • Must have reliable transportation, have/maintain valid driver’s license, and maintain adequate automobile insurance.
  • Travel is required as part of this position.
  • Ability to proficiently navigate information technology as required to complete job duties.
  • Must have the ability to write in a manner legible/readable/understandable.
  • A willingness to work in a high intensity environment that is driven by a team interdependence.


Shall attend assigned training and continuing education to maintain credentialing and privileging, to include, but not limited to:

Annual Training (NCI, CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Medication Administration, Consumer Rights, Confidentiality and HIPAA)

Shall demonstrate the ability to work/be a part of organizational and therapeutic teams, and maintain positive working relationships with consumers, community stakeholders, referral organizations, and other employees/departments of IMPACT of the Piedmont, Inc.


Shall develop a working knowledge of applicable organizational policy and procedure and demonstrate compliance. This shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Service record documentation
  • Confidentiality/HIPAA


Shall complete other duties as assigned by Executive Director


General Knowledge and Skills (will possess at time of employment or will be expected to learn upon employment)


Knowledge of
the dynamics of developmental disabilities, developmental delay, severe and persistent mental health and the impact upon persons served and their families; the social factors involved with (MH challenges ); the up-to-date principles/ techniques (best practices) of residential services, community service for (those dealing with mental health challenges) and the application to individuals possessing (MHD/IDD); the community resources available to persons with (IDD or MHD), to include Person Centered planning, educational/vocational and rehabilitative services, have an understanding of dual diagnoses of individuals such as: depression, anxiety, ADHD, ADD, and/or brain injury. The knowledge of IMPACT of the Piedmont policies and procedures, such as: Employee Ethics, Corporate Compliance, Human Rights, Confidentiality, HIPAA, Cultural Awareness and Person-Centered Plan, as well as understanding of funding services and service definitions.

Skill in
the application of Person Centered Goals, best practices as defined by the NC Division of MH/DD/SUD, and/or literature/research, and organizational policy/procedure; skill in the delivery of services using accepted treatment modalities (to include monitoring, linking, assessing, and coordinating); skill in establishing/maintaining effective therapeutic relationships with persons served and/or their family members; and, skill in accurately documenting services provided and billed.
