Interior Design Assistant

Impeccable By Meredith Park is seeking to hire a Design Assistant in Palatine, IL

Impeccable By Meredith Park is a rapidly growing residential interior design firm with clients all over the Chicagoland area and Wisconsin. We tackle projects ranging from single room furnishing projects to kitchen and bath remodels and whole house renovations. Projects begin with design and progress to material selection, contractor coordination and project management throughout construction and design implementation.

We are looking to hire a Design Assistant who is team-oriented, highly organized, extremely detail- oriented, self-motivated and hardworking with a keen eye for design. The person needs to be able to take ownership over assignments, have strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in juggling multiple types of tasks.

This role is part-time, in-person position with some flexibility on hours.
20-30 hours per week
Pay: $20 / hour plus opportunity for bonuses

Responsibilities:
Assisting the owner and principal designer in various tasks related to projects such as:

• Field measurements and floor plan drawings
• Design presentation creation including visuals and mood boards
• Material selections (fabric, tile, paint, cabinets, furnishings etc.) from preferred vendors based on final designs.
• Communication with vendors to seek quotes/pricing
• Job-site receiving of deliveries and installations as needed
• Errands related to pick and delivery of job-site materials as needed
• Project installations including staging and styling

Organization and maintenance of extensive product sample library including:

• Set-up of new library in the office
• Regular “clean-out” of samples to eliminate discontinued items
• Ordering of samples for client presentations
• Maintenance of organizational system when new samples are added and with weekly put- aways etc.

Organization and maintenance of accent inventory including

• Pricing and reordering as needed

Sought After Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field OR currently pursing degree in Interior

Design or Interior Architecture

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Own method of transportation
• Located in Chicagoland area with ability to commute to Impeccable By Meredith Park office and project locations
• Proficient in Chief Architect (preferred)or other rendering software such as SketchUp
• Organization and time management skills
• Excellent people and communication skills eager to work with vendors, clients, trades and workrooms

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Experience:

• Interior designer 1 year (preferred)
