The Business Development Manager is the first point of contact a new potential client will have with the business when they are seeking information on the products and services the company provides.

The Business Development Manager is the first point of contact a new potential client will have with the business when they are seeking information on the products and services the company provides.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop knowledge of Masterpiece International transportation products, services, and rates.
- Using provided and independently secured leads, make cold calls resulting in scheduled face-to- face sales calls.
- Perform outside sales, two days weekly, checking in with your manager several times a day.
- Support sales efforts on local and regional basis.
- Act as first point-of-contact for client inquiries and rate/information requests.
- Provide lead generation and new business development.
- Draft and finalize rate quotations, proposals, and RFQs, and track quotations and client requirements.
- Create and maintain relations with Freight Agents and Masterpiece staff.
- Working with appropriate internal resources, collaborate on marketing strategies and territory and coverage plans for new and existing business.
- Organize rates received from Agents and provide central location for sales to go to with rate request.
- Attend and provide sales at Industry conferences as necessary.
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of systems including CargoWise, Outlook, Word, and Excel, as applicable.
- Participate in conferences, meetings, and training courses as applicable.
- Comply with all Masterpiece policies and procedures.
- Maintain customer relationships and ensuring customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all client needs appropriate to their business.
- Procurement of rates with all vendors to optimize profit and ensure the best customer service experience to all of our customers.
- Take incoming phone calls/emails and respond to issues quickly and accurately per company policy.
- Keep Manager informed of workload and any problems as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field.
- Experience in sales, marketing or related field.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive and handle uncertatainty.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
