Position Summary:
The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the manufacturing facility. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, and compliance with financial regulations. The Controller will work closely with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Conduct variance analysis and report on financial performance.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget adherence and provide variance explanations.
- Assist in long-term financial planning.
Cost Control:
- Analyze manufacturing costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor their effectiveness.
- Oversee inventory valuation and cost accounting.
Compliance and Audit:
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide training.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Financial Analysis:
- Provide financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.
- Evaluate capital investment proposals and ROI.
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs.
Systems and Processes:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems.
- Streamline accounting processes for efficiency.
- Ensure data integrity and security.
Qualifications:
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Experience:Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
