What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Representative position at Imperial Irrigation District?
Under general direction, develops communication and outreach strategies to support District initiatives for new and existing District projects and programs; plans and conducts external community outreach to promote projects, programs, services and associated activities; works in coordination with sections, including engineering services, energy/water system operations, environmental planning to advance public awareness of District programs, services and activities, and issues through community outreach, advertising, and education; promotes and assists market conservation programs and activities; participates in community events, conducts outreach, and responds to inquiries from customers. Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, public administration or related degree and two years increasingly responsible experience in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field, marketing and/or community outreach related industry, including involvement in public relations.
Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field in marketing and/or community outreach related industry, including involvement in public relations.
May be required to speak, write, and translate in Spanish as determined by supervision.A valid driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
