Desktop Engineer
Job Summary:
The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining IPFS end user computing environments. The Desktop Engineer will deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain new hardware configurations and support the existing desktop images for both laptops and desktops. The Desktop Engineer will also configure, deploy & maintain software installation packages. Install and maintain new computer hardware including in the lab/testbed environment. The Desktop Engineer will also support the SCCM & Microsoft Intune configurations environments. Multitasking, critical as well as creative thinking, and ability to adapt to a dynamic environment are essential skills for this role.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Support desktop and laptop images, including software updates and monthly patching cycles.
- Assist in the evaluation and selection of hardware and software
- Provide support for issues escalated from Tier 1 Support.
- Create and maintain support documentation in knowledgebase.
- Support Active Directory and M365 Services, including Exchange Online, Teams and Intune.
- Onboarding and Offboarding Tasks
- Update and maintain inventory of IT related assets
