Legal Investigator - National Plaintiff-side Law Firm

Compensation & Benefits Summary: Base salary target between $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 with flexibility to go higher for the right candidate with seniority, discretionary bonus, along with extensive benefits including, Health, Dental & Vision Insurance (all premiums for individual & family paid for), Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, 401(k) w/ 3% or more employer contribution, 20 days of PTO, Holidays, Paid Parking and more!

Travel: Travel is approximately 8 trips/month, but mostly 1-2 night trips, and there is always the possibility of local clients that could be day trips. Additionally, there may be some national travel that happens from time to time as well. Travel is related for depos, trial, meet with other teams, etc., but mostly for client meetings.

Managing over 2,000 cases across all 50 states, the firm is dedicated to efficiently processing claims and maximizing recovery for clients affected by this condition. Recognized by peers as a top law firm in this specialized field, their attorneys have successfully represented numerous victims.

A national plaintiffs’ firm is currently looking for a dedicated Legal Investigator to assist those affected by corporate misconduct in their Portland, OR office. The firm's cases are intricate, fast-moving, and often involve multiple defendants, resulting in significant settlements and verdicts. The work culture emphasizes collaboration and open communication, making teamwork essential for effectively advocating on behalf of clients. This position requires presence in the office to maintain this supportive environment.

Please note: We are looking for candidates who are ready to fight for clients, possess a keen sense for research, can travel frequently, and are able to connect with the firms clients. We do not seek former police officers, private investigators, or individuals with backgrounds in insurance companies or corporations.

• Successful candidates often come from trades, investigative journalism, legal investigator roles (like those in PI firms), or military investigations.

Responsibilities:

• Locate and interview witnesses.
• Unearth and review historical documents.
• Interview clients about their work history and exposure to asbestos.
• Write accurate memoranda.
• Manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.

Key Qualifications:

• Strong empathy and ability to build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Considerable interaction with clients during challenging times.
• Strong computer and phone skills.
• Ability to travel.
• College degree.
• Previous legal investigative experience is a plus.
