Job Title: Material Inspector & Equipment Operator
Location: Central Pa
Job Type: Full-Time (Seasonal Saturdays)
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Saturdays as needed (seasonal)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Inspector & Equipment Operator to join our team. This role is a unique combination of material testing and heavy equipment operation, ensuring that incoming materials meet regulatory and site standards while also assisting with operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Testing & Inspection:
- Inspect and test incoming fill material to ensure compliance with clean fill requirements.
- Collect and analyze soil, aggregate, and other materials for contaminants and suitability.
- Maintain detailed records of test results and material approvals.
- Communicate with truck drivers and site personnel regarding material compliance.
Heavy Equipment Operation:
- Operate large equipment, such as bulldozers, loaders, and excavators, to spread and compact fill material.
- Ensure safe and efficient filling operations according to site plans.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
General Site Duties:
- Follow all safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Assist with general quarry maintenance and cleanup as needed.
- Work in various weather conditions and adapt to seasonal demands, including working Saturdays as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience in material testing, construction, or quarry operations preferred.
- Proficiency in operating heavy equipment (bulldozers, loaders, excavators).
- Knowledge of clean fill regulations and material specifications is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions on material acceptance.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required).
