Job Summary
AmeriLife is currently looking for an Intern to join our Human Resources team! This intern will engage in a variety of tasks and projects that cover the basic functions of HR in our Clearwater office: compliance, operations, data management and talent acquisition. This includes developing skills with Workday, which is AmeriLife's Human Resources Information System. Duties/Responsibilities

- Assist the HR Team with maintaining organization records and documentation of processes and best practices.
- Assist with orientation and onboarding of new employees; developing, enhancing and implementing new tools, processes and strategies to improve the new hire experience.
- Support HR Business Partners to answer frequently asked questions from employees and managers in their client groups relative to standard policies, benefits, position management, job changes, etc.
- Collaborate on HR projects and initiatives, specifically auditing and enhancing processes for the Talent Acquisition and HR Operations function.
- Develop strong relationships with internal and external candidates and engage them throughout the hiring process, maintaining communication along the way.
- Monitor emails in shared inbox and liaison questions to appropriate team members.
- Maintain department process documentation ensuring process playbooks are up to date.
- Suggest new ideas for improving HR processes or programs.
- Research and provide feedback regarding organizational procedures and policies including EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other employment related laws/regulations as well as industry-specific requirements.
- Prepare HR-related reports as needed.
- Performs similar or related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements
- Motivated and talented university/college students in their Junior or Senior year with a HR major highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Good interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time and task management skills
- Good collaboration and team building skills, with ability to work with all levels and roles of an organization effectively
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality in HR matters is essential
- Excellent analytical skills
- Knowledge or experience with Workday is an asset
- A positive, “can do” attitude
