Title : Nutrition Services Supervisor
Summary : Collaborates with the Coordinator of Nutrition Services to provide leadership and oversight for the USDA federal child nutrition program encompassing 35 school sites, driving operational excellence and program compliance. Plays a key role in developing and executing departmental strategic initiatives, ensuring program integrity and effective program delivery across all locations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Service Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Registered Dietitian (RD) credential preferred.
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible management experience in a large-scale, multi-unit food service operation, with a proven track record of success in procurement of perishable goods within budgetary constraints.
- Demonstrated experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets for food and supplies, maintaining nutritional integrity, and ensuring compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal child nutrition regulations and policies. Procurement practices must ensure all food items qualify for federal and state meal reimbursement.
- Extensive experience overseeing a large, cost-effective food service operation, including food and ingredient purchasing and control, standardized recipe development and implementation, inventory management, warehouse operations, order / delivery scheduling and logistics, cost analysis (unit, case, and landed), and efficient handling and shipping practices.
- Proficiency with food service management software, nutrition analysis software, and other relevant technology.
- Experience with purchasing / bidding procedures for food, supplies, and equipment, in accordance with state and federal procurement regulations. Ability to prepare bid specifications, solicit quotes, and prepare board exhibits following district procedures.
- Current certification as a School Nutrition Specialist (SNS), Minnesota Department of Health Food Manager, and ServSafe Manager, or ability to obtain all three certifications within the first year of employment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of best practices, policies, procedures, and methods for high-quality, high-volume food service operations, including systems management, dietary guidelines, and child nutrition programs.
- Exceptional organizational, management, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively resolve operational challenges. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, organize, and delegate tasks to staff.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and decision-making.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
