7.5 HOURS PER DAY DURING SCHOOL YEAR

Qualifications

COMPLETED AT LEAST 2 YEARS OF STUDY AT AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER EDUCATION, OR OBTAINED AN ASSOCIATE'S DEGREE OR HIGHER. PREFERRED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE MET ONE OF THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

• Post High school work in education or a related field;
• Previous work experience in instructional program
  
  

documented by letter(s) of reference.

• Previous experience as a classroom assistant documented by letter(s) of reference and description of responsibilities.
  
  

PREFERENCE GIVEN TO LICENSED TEACHERS OR CANDIDATES WITH A COLLEGE DEGREE

Duties / Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher with restorative program.
• Work with students in monitoring their behavior and providing behavior support to students
• Serve as a check and connect mentor
• Assist in planning learning experiences for the students.
• Assist in the production of instructional materials and use of technology.
• Assist in implementing classroom routines.
• Assist in instruction-related clerical tasks including scoring of student products, grading, and behavior/academic data collection
• Work with students on activities, while the teacher works with small groups of students.
• Assist with monitoring student learning.
• Tutor students to strengthen skills or concepts under the supervision of the teacher.
• Confer regularly with the classroom teacher about the programs and achievement of each student.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information/data.
• Help with the planning and implementation of after school parent meetings.
• Successful interview with Building Principal
• Perform other related duties as directed by teacher and/or principal.
