Director of Development Indianapolis Symphonic Choir

As Director of Development, youll be a key member of our senior management team, working closely with the Executive Director to amplify our mission, expand our audience, and secure the resources that sustain the Choirs legacy. From crafting innovative fundraising strategies to engaging donors in unforgettable experiences, your work will ensure the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir continues to move hearts and minds through exceptional choral performances.

What Youll Do :

Fundraising Strategy & Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan to increase annual giving, corporate sponsorships, and grant funding.
  • Cultivate and solicit major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, with a focus on annual, planned, and endowment giving.
  • Partner with the Executive Director and Board to diversify revenue streams (individual giving, corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and more).
  • Innovate with new revenue opportunities like crowdfunding, corporate partnerships, and donor-matching initiatives.
  • Lead an engaging donor stewardship program, ensuring contributors feel appreciated and connected to the Choirs impact.

Donor & Relationship Management

  • Build and nurture relationships with key donors and prospects, ensuring a strong, engaged philanthropic community.
  • Design and execute exclusive donor experiences, including behind-the-scenes events, intimate performances, and appreciation gatherings.
  • Oversee donor communications and engagement efforts, tracking progress in the CRM system and ensuring personalized follow-ups.
  • Serve as a Choir ambassador at all events, fostering new donor connections and deepening existing relationships.
  • Event Planning & Execution

  • Spearhead fundraising events, from glamorous galas to innovative donor appreciation experiences.
  • Provide post-event analysis to measure impact, refine strategies, and continuously enhance donor engagement.
  • What You Bring

  • Bachelors degree (preferably in arts, nonprofit management, or a related field).
  • Deep appreciation for choral music and the arts, with knowledge of the Indianapolis philanthropic landscape.
  • 5 years of fundraising experience, preferably in the nonprofit or arts sector.
  • Proven track record in major gift fundraising, donor cultivation, and corporate sponsorships.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skillsyou're a storyteller who can inspire and engage supporters.
  • Ability to work independently while juggling multiple projects with creativity and precision.
