Job Summary:
The Supply Chain and Demand Planning Manager will be an integral part of the Operations team, responsible for demand forecasting for finished goods and materials, global production planning, and allocation for finished products and customized printing/embellishments. This role includes overseeing the development and implementation of inventory and production strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all manufacturing partners.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in demand planning, inventory management, production management, strategic planning, and global supply chain logistics. This role fosters a culture of collaboration, communication, and accountability within the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role includes direct supervisory responsibilities, overseeing and guiding the performance of team members within the assigned department.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management / Demand Planning
- Assist in developing and implementing global operational strategies, including demand forecasting, process optimization, reporting/business intelligence, and KPI alignment with the company’s budget and annual operating plan.
- Create and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales data, market trends, and customer input.
- Monitor and adjust forecasts based on market conditions, sales trends, and seasonal factors.
- Optimize inventory levels to balance customer service goals with cost efficiency.
- Monitor stock levels by SKU (style/color/size) and establish reorder points to prevent overstock or stockouts.
- Conduct regular inventory analyses to identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommend action plans.
- Create and maintain style master data in the ERP system for new collections and existing styles.
Procurement/ Production
- Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best quality, pricing, and delivery timelines for fabrics, trims, and finished goods.
- Maintain and build strong relationships with vendors, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Create purchase orders based on buy plan sheets per season and biweekly/monthly replenishment.
- Manage purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve supply chain disruptions.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with design and production teams to understand and establish product requirements and calendar timelines.
- Partner with logistics providers to ensure cost-effective and efficient delivery and distribution of products.
- Collaborate with the warehouse inventory team for inbound shipment planning, inventory accuracy, and cycle/physical counts.
- Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on demand trends, procurement status, and inventory metrics.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, demand planning, or supply chain management, preferably in the apparel or wholesale industry.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems like NetSuite.
- Knowledge of demand forecasting tools and inventory management software (e.g., NetSuite or similar).
Required Skills/Abilities:
