We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Coordinator to join our HR/Payroll team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong analytical skills and experience in payroll and benefits administration. As a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator, you will ensure the accurate and timely payroll and benefits processing while supporting compliance and administrative tasks. Primary Responsibilities
- Administer and process biweekly payroll, commissions, and employee deductions, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and maintaining accurate payroll records.
- Support and maintain HRIS functionality by testing, implementing changes, and offering technical assistance to users while recommending enhancements and best practices.
- Oversee benefits administration, including enrollment, claims verification, compliance with regulations (e.g., ACA, FMLA), and maintaining accurate benefits records.
- Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure payroll-related compliance and reconcile deductions, garnishments, benefits, and third-party billings.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee inquiries about payroll, benefits, and regulations, resolving issues promptly and providing guidance.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Accounting, HR, or related field preferred) and at least three years of multi-state payroll administration experience, including tax and wage law compliance. A minimum of two years coordinating employee benefits programs, such as health insurance and retirement plans, is required. Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG) and proficiency in data analytics tools like Excel and Power BI are essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines. Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) or Benefits Professional (CBP) is a plus. Integrity, reliability, and effective communication skills are critical for success in this role.
