What we're looking for.
We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist Team Leader to oversee production, optimize machining processes, and lead a skilled team of machinists.
Job Summary.
The CNC Lathe Machinist Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing daily operations in the CNC lathe department, ensuring high-quality production, and leading a team of machinists to meet company demands. This role requires technical expertise in CNC lathe programming, setup, and operation, along with leadership skills to manage and develop team members effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and mentor a team of CNC lathe machinists.
- Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, adjusting programs and tooling as needed.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations and best practices in the machining environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve machining processes and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production, tooling, and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate on performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Assist in the selection and procurement of tooling and materials for optimal productivity.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in CNC lathe machining, with experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proficiency in G-code programming, CAD/CAM software, and blueprint reading.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with various materials including metals and alloys.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on team development.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
