Sewing Machine Oper I
Job Summary
Supports sewing operations by producing components or products in accordance with product and quality specifications.
Essential Duties

Threads sewing machine for operation; sews product in accordance with specifications. Aligns machines to ensure proper stitch count
Performs repairs for sewing defects and monitors product to verify high quality standards
Monitors equipment to ensure that proper safety equipment is in place before operation
Improves productivity by suggesting better ways to maintain equipment, reduce costs, etc.
Properly completes any other duties and responsibilities designated by supervision
Supervisory Responsibilities
Ability to use standard tools such as snips, scissors, tweezers, needle threaders, etc.
Must be able to thread machines, change bobbins and needles, start machine, align materials, control pedal, and sew straight lines
Strong understanding of quality standards for assigned tasks and verify that product quality is acceptable
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to stand and use external dexterities for an entire shift

Must wear safety gear, such as masks, goggles, and gloves, when handling scissors, snips, tweezers, or similar tools
Able to lift to 50 pounds on a regular basis

- Prolonged periods of moving, twisting, and turning to complete assigned tasks
