INEOS Composites has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll Team at our Grandview, OH location. This position will report to the Payroll Manager. HCM preferred experience with Workday, ADP WFN, Kronos-UKG, Canadian payroll processing, as well as processing payroll for employees that are part of a collective bargaining unit.
Under general supervision of the Payroll Manager, this role will be responsible for processing of payroll and ensuring that all payrolls are accurate and that scheduled processing deadlines are consistently met. This role will help enforce and refine payroll standards, policies, practices, and procedures to prevent errors, as well as organizes payroll records for accurate and timely retrieval. A high- level of experience is mandatory in the follow areas : full cycle payroll processing, payroll, and payroll tax funding, third party vendor relationship, tax filing and GL account reconciling.
The Sr. Payroll Specialist has a proportional level of independence and responsibilities involving complex actions, tasks, and responsibilities. The Sr. Payroll Specialist is expected to demonstrate a high-level of understanding and practical application of all aspects of payroll operations. This position will be SME on payroll related functions on projects.
Duties included are :
- Calculate gross pay accurately for salaried / hourly - exempt and nonexempt employees
- Withhold mandatory and statutory deductions
- Produce accurate W2 processing
- Assist in process documentation
Key Responsibilities :
payroll processing for 400 multi state employees as neededResearch payroll, tax and garnishment related inquiries and take appropriate action to resolve any issues or discrepanciesAudit preview and post payroll reports for accuracy and completenessAssist with adding or closing tax jurisdictionsProcess garnishments and other court orders in a timely manner by mail or serving the employees and setting up deductions into the payroll systemAssists with year-end payroll processing duties to ensure accurate and timely W2sImport time & attendance, payroll, and benefits deduction dataMaintain supporting documentation of all payrollsPartner with Accounting team on reconciliations and reportingJob Qualifications :
Experience in full cycle payroll processing using Workday / Kronos timekeepingMinimum of 7 years of stable, high volume payroll processing experienceHigh school diploma or GED required. Associate or undergraduate degree in Accounting or HR preferredIndustry training such as FPC or CPP certification preferredPayroll and payroll tax processing experience requiredKnowledge of and experience with payroll and timekeeping software such as Workday, ADP, KronosStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and tax lawsPrevious experience with Union CBAs preferredPrevious experience in project and process improvement implementation preferredProven ability to work productively, efficiently, & effectively with initiative and drive under a tight timeline and pressure with minimal supervisionAbility to assess sense of urgency and prioritization of workTeam environment with high dedication to organization and accuracyStrong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to seek resources as neededProven customer service skills while maintaining a confidential work environmentManages positive and productive relationship with team members and external vendors
