Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical support to end-users, ensuring that all desktop systems, applications, and network connections are functioning efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, as well as strong communication skills to assist users effectively.
Duties
- Provide first-level support for desktop hardware and software issues, including Windows and Mac OS environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to VPN connectivity, Active Directory access, and network administration.
- Utilize tools such as SCCM for software deployment and inventory management.
- Maintain documentation of support requests using Jira for tracking and reporting purposes.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware and peripherals.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex issues when necessary.
- Conduct regular system updates and ensure compliance with security protocols.
- Educate users on best practices for using technology effectively within the organization.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Windows Server environments.
- Experience in desktop support roles with a strong understanding of computer hardware components.
- Familiarity with VPN technologies and network administration principles.
- Knowledge of Mac OS systems is a plus.
- Experience with SCCM for software management is preferred.
- Ability to navigate Jira or similar ticketing systems for issue tracking.
- Understanding of Active Directory for user account management is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to assist users effectively.
