Summary
The Mechanic Assistant will be responsible for the pick-up and safe delivery of a variety of parts and equipment. This position will report directly to the Logistics Manager. The Mechanic Assistant's responsibilities will also include maintenance, receipt of deliveries, assist mechanics and technicians, as well as any other shop related tasks. Bi-lingual preferred but not required.
Job Description- Responsibilities will include but are not limited to general yard duties and the following.
- Assist Fleet/ Logistics Manager in maintaining tools and equipment inventory.
- Support Mechanics and welders by moving equipment and supplies in and out of shop and yard.
- Assist Fleet/ Logistics Manager in maintaining tools and equipment inventory.
- Support Mechanics and welders by moving equipment and supplies in and out of shop and yard.
- Yard and facility maintenance and cleanliness.
- Abides by safety policies and procedures.
- Wash and clean out work trucks within the yard that will be issued out to new hires.
- Handle counting, sorting, and unpacking materials that have been delivered to the yard.
- Refueling of gasoline or diesel, oil, water levels for pressure washer and equipment & Preventive Maintenance
- Receive shipments and logging items
- Travel to deliver parts and equipment
- Operate a pallet jack or forklift
- Assist technicians in the shop
- Assist with vehicle fleet and shop maintenance
- Handle safe and secure loading/unloading of trucks
- Keep parts inventory
- Present a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and vendors
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Logistics Manager or supervisor
Qualifications
Requirements
- 1 year of experience in similar job, preferred
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Also able to squat, reach, etc.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience driving in the oilfield area, preferred
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills and an ability to deal tactfully with a wide range of personalities
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR No Exceptions
