Job Summary:
The Safety Auditor is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards across various field operations. This position involves conducting safety audits, identifying risks, recommending corrective actions, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The role requires frequent travel to field sites and close collaboration with operational teams to uphold a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular field safety audits and inspections of electrical services operations to ensure adherence to company safety policies and procedures.
- Evaluate compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Assess the safety of tools, equipment, and work practices in the field.
- Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks effectively.
- Ensure proper implementation of hazard control measures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety protocols.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations to determine root causes.
- Prepare comprehensive reports with recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Provide on-site safety training and guidance to employees, contractors, and vendors.
- Promote a safety-first culture through toolbox talks, safety briefings, and engagement with field teams.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, incidents, and training activities.
- Prepare detailed safety performance reports for management review.
- Stay current with industry regulations and best practices to ensure company compliance.
- Support field teams during regulatory inspections or audits.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification such as Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), OSHA 30-hour, or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of safety auditing experience in the oil and gas or electrical services industry.
- Familiarity with electrical systems, high-voltage safety, and oilfield operations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety auditing software.
- Ability to travel extensively to remote field locations.
- Valid drivers license and a clean driving record.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including extreme weather and rugged terrain.
- Work in proximity to high-voltage electrical systems, heavy machinery, and other oil and gas infrastructure.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow strict safety protocols at all times.
