INH Property Management is seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join the team and drive their ongoing growth. As the Senior Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in developing staff and ensuring accurate financial reporting of a portfolio of the properties. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you'll have a direct impact on the accounting department’s success.
Job Description: (Including but not limited to the following)
- Reconciliation: Conduct regular ledger reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger accounts.
- Prepares day-to-day and month-end close entries. Manage the month-end and year-end closing process for all properties in assigned portfolio.
- Manages and reviews reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and various other general ledger accounts.
- Prepare financial statements, monitor monthly analyzes for financial impact for forecasting.
- Responsible for recommending and enforcing internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Work directly with Regional Property Managers and Partners to determine and meet all client’s accounting needs.
- Review work, develop, and serve as mentor for internal accounting staff.
- Learn all functions of the department to assist where needed when teammates or Accounting Manager is out of the office.
- Collaborate with external public accounting firms to ensure timely filed tax returns and tax payments for portfolio of properties.
- Summarize and report areas of opportunity and concern each month to the Accounting Manager.
Who We Are Looking For (Ideal Candidate):
- Tech savvy – familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Yardi, digital workload management, and comfortable learning new software programs.
- Comfortable with balancing multiple projects at a time, and eager to learn new tasks and take on new projects.
- Able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction as needed.
- Expertise in accounting principles, laws/regulations, and GAAP.
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Yardi, and digital workload management.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Positive attitude and openness to feedback necessary for continued growth and development.
- Analytical mindset, comfortable with numbers and problem-solving.
- Self-starter, intellectually curious, and not afraid to seek out projects independently.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Experience in real estate property accounting
- Yardi Voyageur Experience
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (XLOOKUPS, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, formulas, etc.).
- Fast paced environment, many deadlines, high volume of interdepartmental communication.
- Currently 100% onsite in Waite Park, MN (not remote)
- Hourly, with expectation to work approximately 40-45 hours per week.
