Your Role & Responsibilities
As an Automation Controls Engineer, you will:
- Be the go-to expert for all things automation and electrical within the team.
- Take ownership for all electrical schematics and design work; Create and update electrical schematics using CAD software.
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot electrical control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, stepper motors, VFDs/VSDs, and other control devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate robotics and automation solutions into production processes.
- Develop pneumatic circuits and vacuum systems for material handling applications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Troubleshoot control boards and read electrical schematics with precision.
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A strong background in electrical engineering, with strong experience in creating and reading electrical schematics and circuit design using CAD systems.
- 5 years of experience in automation or control systems design.
- Proficiency in PLC programming - any flavour
- Hands-on experience with automation controls such as stepper motors, VFDs/VSDs.
- Excellent fault-finding skills in PLCs and control systems.
- Knowledge of robotics programming is highly desirable but not essential.
