The energy industry is increasingly impacted by disruptive technologies with decarbonisation, digital innovations and autonomy/AI as important drivers.
Innovation Norway is presently looking for a commercially oriented business developer to assist Norwegian companies with capitalizing on these opportunities in the Gulf Region – and beyond.

The position will report to Norway’s Commercial Counsellor based at Innovation Norway’s office in Houston, Kathrine Langjord.
This is a full-time, Houston-based position, with US/Texas employment terms and conditions. The applicant must have US Citizenship, Greencard or a valid US work visa.

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Strategic advisory and business development services to Norwegian companies, supporting development and implementation of their export and growth priorities
- Proactive engagement to identify and promote export opportunities and effectively build strong relationships with key partners in the region -and in Norway
- Organize targeted programs and market visits for groups of Norwegian companies
- Facilitate impactful business conferences, networking events and matchmaking platforms
- Provide market updates, collecting and leveraging data
- Sales/consulting/business development experience from the US, and strong commercial network is essential. Similar experience from Norway is considered beneficial.
- Sales/ business development experience and network from one or more of our key focus areas: energy, cleantech, hydrogen, CCUS/CCS.
- Project management experience and proficiency to effectively utilize digital project management tools.
- Experience from early to mid-stage corporate fundraising/finance, M&A processes and similar is considered beneficial.
- Higher education, technical or commercial, within a relevant field.
- Minimum five years of relevant working experience.
- Fluency in English is essential, Scandinavian language is considered beneficial.
