What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician: 2nd Shift position at INOAC Exterior Systems?
JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Technician is responsible to provide overall quality support of product and processes through the use of the ABC INOAC Quality Management System. Gage parts and perform dimensional studies. Support manufacturing with ongoing activities including continuous improvement.
Schedule: 2nd Shift and 3rd Shift (2 openings)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Testing
~Conducts in house paint performance testing
~Performs Daily GM testing
~Maintains upkeep on all Lab Equipment, MacBeth Booth/Water Bath/Salt Spray/Humidity/Oven/Chemicals/Microscope
~Creates Test Reports
~Performs Film Builds
~Request Quotes & Schedules outsourced testing
~Fill out Purchase Orders
~Maintains all Film Build logs
~Reviews all current Certified Lab Accreditation for testing, to make sure they operate within their scope & Maintain current up to date copy.
Incoming Inspection
~Check and approve all appropriate material for use and maintain all material/paint certifications.
~Inspect material/parts when needed
~Maintain Inspection log
Color
~Color Test & Evaluations, Maintain master log for test scores
~ Track & distribute color sign offs & Masters, Make folders for all locations-Lab/Frontline/Clear
~Maintains Color Master system
~Maintain documentation and log books for Appearance Standards
Gages
~Responsible for all gages, maintain Gagepaq online system
~Maintains and calibrates all gages (schedules any outsourced calibration required).
~Schedules all outside contractors with acceptable credentials to perform calibration and/or repair of gages, review results.
~Fill out Purchase Orders
~Write detailed instructions with regard to calibration techniques including any outside sources.
~Perform and input statistical data associated with capability studies.
~Log all Current Gage & Obsolete Gage Listings
~Keep paper copies for all gage calibrations
~Reviews all current Certified Lab Accreditation for calibration to make sure they operate within their scope & Maintain current up to date copy.
Preventive Maintenance
~Write detailed instructions with PM techniques
~Print & Distribute all PM’s due
~Enter into System & Keep completed forms filed
Miscellaneous duties
~Create check sheets and/or control charts, Retain completed forms
~Quality Alerts
~Perform dock audits
~Hold/Reject systems
~Place questionable non-conformance product (issued through Hold/Reject system) into non-con status using MFG Pro program and remove as warranted.
~Assist quality engineer as needed
~Warranty review
~Perform internal IATF-16949 and 5s Audits as schedule
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, use of hands to inspect parts, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talking and hearing. Employee will occasionally lift and/or move product. Quality Technician must successfully pass required color testing where applicable.
