The department engages in highly collaborative research, education, and extension efforts that offer direct, practical solutions to current challenges in environmental and human well-being.
Essential Job Duties :
The program will take place in a community setting and involve directing and advancing the
Agricultural Workers Digital Equity Initiative, funded by the National Institutes of Health via the
NC Office of Rural Health.
The position will have the unique opportunity of leading and managing the research component
of a statewide intervention that promotes agricultural worker health and is funded by the
National Institutes of Health’s Community Partnerships to Advance Science for Society research
program. Specifically, this position will lead the research coordination of a statewide program
that involves development and implementation of a complex, statewide community-engaged
intervention to address digital health for agricultural workers across NC.
The position involves managing the efforts of a research team embedded in this statewide
program and includes engagement with agricultural workers, partners, and a statewide
coalition. Also, this position is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, and
evaluation of certain aspects of the program with limited supervision from the principal
investigators.
The successful candidate will work closely with community health workers, state agency
officials, and researchers at NC State and Wake Forest University School of Medicine to plan,
organize, conduct, and evaluate research in support of the project. Additionally, this individual
will liaise with NC Office of Rural Health’s Project Manager, coordinate communication and
activities among state and research team members, develop logic models for intervention
mapping, support undergraduate student researchers’ community-engaged research projects,
serve as the point of contact for community engaged research advisors at NC State and Wake
Forest University School of Medicine, support a systematic screening and assessment and rapid
review, and assist with qualitative data analyses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and administering a community-
engaged program, including planning, developing, and carrying out activities, protocols, and
timelines to implement and evaluate the program. Specifically, the successful candidate will
address systems-level challenges between partners, monitor budgets, track program progress,
and develop defined grant status reports. Additionally, this individual will mentor, assign, and
monitor the work being performed by undergraduate students in the program.

Minimum Education and Experience :
- Master’s degree or BS / BA and three years of work experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
