What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Technology Specialist 2 (NY HELPS) - App Dev Team position at Insurance Fund, State?
The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description As a member of NYSIF’s Application Development Team, incumbents of these positions will play a key role in developing software to meet the essential business needs of the agency. As a member of a full stack development team, incumbents will assist in the design and creation of both front and back-end software development.Duties include but are not limited to: • Analyze and gather requirements for current and future processes• Design/create database structures including PL/SQL, tables, packages, procedures, functions• Design/create websites, APIs, and batch processes• Provide production support as needed• Analyze and Remediate Security Vulnerabilities• Create and Maintain CI/CD pipelines for application deployments• Assist with migrating TFS projects into GITCurrent projects that incumbents may be involved include but are not limited to: • Claims Payment System Modernization• Claims Payment Batch Process Modernization• Case Management systems support and development• Statutory/Regulation changes for existing systems• Security Scanning/Vulnerability Mitigation
The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy. Minimum Qualifications • Reachable on current Civil Service eligible list for this title; OR• One year of permanent, competitive class service as an Information Technology Specialist 2; OR, one year of permanent, competitive class service in a title eligible for transfer Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law; OR• Bachelor's or higher-level degree including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science: OR• Bachelor's or higher-level degree in any field AND one year of experience in information technology; OR• 60 semester credit hours including or supplemented by 15 semester credit hours in computer science AND one year of experience in information technology: OR• Two years of experience in information technology.Note: Certain math and business courses although taken as part of a computer science curriculum, are not counted towards the 15 semester credit hours.Please be advised that the New York State Insurance Fund does not offer sponsorship for employment visas to employees or potential employees.
