Mental Health Call Center Representative Job Description
- You will be the first contact for individuals seeking mental health care services. You will handle in and outbound calls, acting as a liaison between those seeking mental health care, current patients, and IBH. This is an in-office position at our headquarters in Madison, AL.

Mental Health Call Center Representative Responsibilities
- Triaging patient calls, referral sources, and administrative department inquires
- Communicating with insurance companies and/or authorization requestors
- Entering patient information into our electronic medical record system (eClinicalWorks)
- Engaging the caller to help ensure customer satisfaction and assisting them with issues/concerns related to their mental health
- Developing the knowledge of customer needs and trends to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Being knowledgeable about qualifications for multiple insurances.
- Scheduling appointments for patients and taking messages from incoming patient’s calls regarding health concerns or problems. Directing those messages to the appropriate physicians and/or nurses.
- Using customer service principles and techniques to communicate with patients calmly, pleasantly, and professionally.
Mental Health Call Center Representative Job Requirements
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred
- Experience and proficiency with eClinicalWorks preferred
- 2 years experience in a medical office with working knowledge of medical insurance verifications and patient scheduling
- Customer service experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel applications
- Proficiency with phones and computer systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability and willingness to be empathetic and an active listener
