Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various accounts payable duties, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal departments. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, review, and verify a high volume of invoices for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Ensure timely payment of invoices in accordance with company policies and agreed payment terms.
- Manage and reconcile vendor accounts, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and update ledgers accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to obtain approvals, verify expense reports, and ensure proper documentation.
- Communicate with vendors regarding account statements, payment status, and any necessary follow-up.
- Assist in month-end and year-end financial close processes by preparing AP-related reports and reconciliations.
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations for AP-related inquiries.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and assist in refining accounts payable processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Netsuite) and strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Working Conditions
This position operates in a manufacturing facility where employees are exposed to various environmental factors, including but not limited to noise, dust, odors, and temperature fluctuations. The role may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required in designated areas. The company prioritizes employee safety and maintains strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
