Job Description:
The Associate Project Manager will manage the development and implementation process of the company's products and services. This role involves working with departmental or cross-functional teams to deliver new or existing products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimate project levels of effort and resource requirements using standard estimating techniques and tools, collaborating with staff to understand the scope of effort.
- Prepare project plans, schedules, and budgets using tools like Microsoft Project and work with staff to identify necessary tasks for project completion.
- Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking schedules, identifying risks, and developing contingency plans.
- Ensure project quality by adhering to standard development methodologies.
- Communicate project status through standard status reports and participate in departmental and customer update meetings.
- Resolve project issues by collaborating with team members, project customers, and other stakeholders.
- Share project management knowledge with internal project groups and mentor junior project leaders in project management processes and techniques.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of the specified functional area, OR Master's degree with 0-2 years of related work experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices, and procedures. General understanding of business unit/group functions.
- Must perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.
- Ability to work on problems of moderate scope, analyze situations or data, and exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices.
- Broad knowledge of technical alternatives and their impact on the system's environment.
