What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Specialist/Purchaser position at Intellipro Group Inc?
Responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, packaging materials, and other supplies needed for the production of beverages from domestic and international suppliers. Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities and offerings, and negotiate contracts to secure the best prices and terms while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Collaborate with internal departments such as production, quality control, and logistics to align procurement activities with the company's production schedule and inventory management requirements.
Monitor and analyze market trends, price fluctuations, and supply chain disruptions to proactively adjust procurement strategies and mitigate risks.
Manage the import and export process, including customs clearance, documentation, shipping arrangements, and compliance with international trade regulations and standards. Maintain and update supplier databases, track purchase orders, and ensure accurate record- keeping for audit and reporting purposes.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, and explore opportunities for new partnerships to enhance the company's sourcing options and competitive edge in the beverage market.
Requirements:
At least 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the consumer goods industry, with a focus on the beverage sector.
Proven experience in handling import and export transactions, with a solid understanding of international trade practices, customs regulations, and documentation requirements. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with international suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions from suppliers, and the ability to influence and persuade others to achieve procurement objectives.
Proficient in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem- solving and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures in the beverage industry is a plus.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed for supplier visits, trade shows, and other business-related activities.
