InterAgency is seeking a full-time Accounting and Administrative Assistant to assist our accounting team with AP/AR, records management, data entry, report creation, and general administrative. Candidate must be detail-oriented, organized, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required, A.A, B.A. or B.S. degree in accounting or business-related field, a plus.
- 3-5 years’ experience working in a professional office environment in accounting, executive assistant, or similar support experience required.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Oracle Netsuite, or other accounting or ERP software is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to pick up and drop off checks or other small parcels to and from locations in the DC metro area.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Perform data entry to support preparation of invoices and QuickBooks entry with a high degree of accuracy.
- Collaborate with accounting team to prepare accounting reports and support monthly bookkeeping efforts.
- Perform data entry to ensure accurate time accounting between ERP and HRIS software.
- Pick up or drop off check payments to/from Client or Vendor locations in the DC metro area as needed.
- Distribute mail from headquarters office in Navy Yard, DC to field offices/employees, as needed.
- Support Accounting Manager with follow-up on outstanding A/R through phone and email outreach to build positive client relationships.
- Provide administrative support to the accounting and administrative team and perform web-based, business development research.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
- Work is generally done sitting, talking, hearing, and typing. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures; transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
Employment Conditions:
- Full-time, exempt employment
- Location: North Bethesda, MD
- Regular business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 PM (EST).
- Hybrid work arrangement:
- Training Phase: Five (5) days in office during first 60 days.
- Post-Training - Hybrid schedule: 4 days in office, with 1 day of remote work per week, contingent on accounting team needs.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $53,000 - $68,000 /year, commensurate with experience.
