As the Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (or CSAC Supervisee), you will provide and support outpatient counseling services and care coordination to those clients who suffer from substance abuse.
Education and Experience Required: The selected candidate must be a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC Supervisee who has experience working in a team environment with individuals who suffer from substance abuse.
Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Support staff in the comprehensive assessment of clients and develop treatment plans based on the assessment
- Support individual and group counseling sessions along with completing the required supporting documentation.
- Support case management services, as needed.
- Document treatment progress for each client.
- Exercise sound judgment in proposing changes to client treatment plans.
- Coordinate closely with other staff to ensure the appropriateness of treatment modalities.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Support staff in develop and implement plans for individual client discharges.
- Maintain high quality documentation of all case work, completed in a timely manner and consistent with outlined program policies and licensure requirements.
- Notify Supervisor of any significant client medical complaint(s), unusual events, accidents, medical problems, property damage or maintenance concern, etc.
- Intercept Clinicians will not provide medical services or therapeutic services that would reasonably be found to fall outside the scope of the expertise of the assigned counselor.
