Intercoastal Medical Group, Inc. is seeking Medical Assistants for our growing practice. General office hours are Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm. For additional information about Intercoastal, visit www.intercoastalmedical.com.
Full-time opportunities:
*Lakewood Ranch: Primary Care, Dermatology, Allergy, Neurology, and float positions
*Sarasota: Primary Care, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Urology, General Surgery and float positions
Part-time/PRN opportunities: Float positions (may be scheduled to work in any office in Lakewood Ranch and Sarasota); hours are not guaranteed.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
* Triage patients: vital sign intake, medication reconciliation, review of allergies and social history, chief complaint
*Assist the provider with in-office procedures (ex. biopsy or physical exam)
*Administer medications and/or vaccines under the direction of the supervising provider
*Assist with prescription request renewals
*Enter orders under the direction of the supervising provider
*Assist with incoming clinical messages; and contact patients via phone or patient portals
*Document clinical findings and notes in the electronic medical record system; and may schedule follow-up appointments when needed
*Obtain insurance authorization for medications and/or diagnostic tests or procedures
*May be required to provide coverage within office or float to another office when needed
Requirements:
*High School Diploma or Equivalent
*Current Medical Assistant Experience (for select positions)
*Current Medical Assistant Certification (required within 1st year of employment)
*Completion of a Medical Assistant Program (preferred)
*Current CPR Certification
*Strong Computer Skills
*Basic HIPAA Knowledge
