Job Purpose
In primary support of the business groups that comprise the New York Stock Exchange, the HR Business Partner will be a trusted advisor, with responsibility for providing data driven insights and recommendations regarding the attraction, retention, development and deployment of talent. Further, the role will strengthen relationships and collaboration across HR to deliver value to management and employees that align with the overall objectives and strategies of the company.
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and support to management and employees regarding policies, performance, compensation, career planning and advancement, employee engagement, recognition, attrition and retention, training, workforce planning, etc.
- Build strong and sustainable relationships with business leaders to gain credibility as a trusted advisor regarding people topics.
- Develop strong and effective relationships within the HRBP function and across HR department to deliver value through the implementation of solutions, programs and policies while driving adherence to process.
- Conduct analysis and reporting to steer the business towards the biggest opportunities and provide counsel to ensure the best possible people decisions.
- Identify, manage and resolve employee relations issues. Provide guidance regarding performance management, including coaching, counseling, career development, and corrective and disciplinary actions.
- Manage all aspects of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), including the relationship with the bargaining unit shop stewards and representatives.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a business partner capacity.
- Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation, organizational design, employee relations, talent management, diversity, performance management, regulatory compliance and benefits.
- Broad knowledge of federal, state and local employment and labor laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, NLRA, FLSA, etc.
- Experience in labor relations and working with a union workforce, including collective bargaining agreement administration is preferred.
- Proven track record in delivering business focused HR solutions, often in ambiguous, not clearly defined situations where multiple laws overlap and competing priorities exist.
- Experience working in a global matrix organization with strong consulting/relationship building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to mediate and influence under pressure in sensitive, delicate issues while maintaining trust and credibility with internal clients (i.e., managers and employees).
- Proficient computer skills, including competency with MS tools.
- Strong business acumen.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.
- High emotional intelligence.
Schedule
This role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.
Base Salary Range for New York Candidates
The expected base salary for this role is between 115,000 - 145,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual.
