This position will partner with operation leadership to deliver the mill’s strategic talent development activities, manage employee relations events to resolution, and effectively implement corporate HR programs and initiatives.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with mill leadership to deliver the organizational development strategy related to leadership development, attraction and retention, talent reviews for hourly and salary workforce, hourly and salary staffing, diversity initiatives and community engagement plans
- Provide expertise and support for the mill in all aspects of HR including hourly recruitment, on boarding, performance management, discipline, employee relations, benefits, compensation administration and compliance.
- Build trusting relationships with mill leadership to ensure the effective delivery of HR programs
- Provide support to the Mill Manager and supervisors in identifying and addressing employee relations issues and concerns.
- Administer Interfor policies and programs to ensure compliance that is consistent with our core values.
- Liaise with other HR to ensure consistent approach and delivery of programs
- Coordinate and maintain all required HR and payroll records and documents for hourly employees including personnel files, benefit enrollment forms and payroll records.
- Assist all employees with HR, benefit and payroll related inquiries or requests and act as liaison with various internal and external resources as needed.

- Administer requests for time off under the Family and Medical Leave Act and ensure compliance.
- Work closely with Mill EHS on issues that may have a direct impact on employment issues
- Provide case management support for worker’s comp claims.
- Collect, analyse and report out on key HR metrics
- Be accessible to all employees by routinely spending time in the mill and following up on concerns and issues as they arise.
- Support other mill locations regionally as necessary
- Coordinate new leadership onboarding training plan and manage through talent center.
- 6-10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, including leadership talent development, employee relations and community engagement, preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with claims management is desirable.
- Ability to build strong relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
- Ability to communicate clear and concise information in an accurate informative manner.
- Effective listener.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills and attention to detail.
