Job Description:
As a Geriatric Nurse Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and health of senior residents. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive health assessments and monitoring the overall health status of residents.
- Managing medications and supervising CNA's/PCA's on your shift.
- Providing health education to residents and their families on topics such as disease management and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Coordinating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for residents.
- Responding to medical emergencies promptly and efficiently.
- Maintaining accurate medical records and documenting all assessments and communications related to resident care.
- Fostering open communication with residents, their families, and staff to promote a positive care environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A RN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- A current and valid RN license in the state of Minnesota.
- Previous experience in geriatric nursing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with senior residents.
