Job Description
Geriatric Nursing Role
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, medication management, and overall health status monitoring for residents in assisted living and memory care facilities.
- Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) or Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) on your shift.
- Offer health education to residents and their families on various topics such as disease management, preventative care, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and holistic care for residents.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to medical emergencies, following established protocols and providing immediate care as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and communications related to resident care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- RN degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current and valid RN license in the state of Minnesota.
- Previous experience in geriatric nursing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with senior residents.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
