Position Summary
The Inventory Purchasing Analyst manages purchases and purchasing procedures while maintaining proper multi-branch inventory levels across multiple categories of products. Responsible for the entire life cycle of orders: placing, maintaining, documenting, changing, receiving, canceling, and following up on, while answering questions throughout the life cycle as to status. Product is managed on a Just-in-time basis while assuring that company metrics for Inventory Balance, Aged Inventory, Freight Expenditure and Stock availability are met or exceeded.

- Inventory management and purchasing to drive industry-leading customer service and sales growth.
- Manage $2m inventory to meet ILG strategies & sales objectives while maximizing performance on Availability, Freight Cost, Inventory Dollars, and Aged Dollars.
- Purchase & provide products to meet special order product and deadline requirements.
- Consistency of professional, high-quality service that supports users’ needs for solutions, information and questions.
- Work collaboratively with other areas on process improvements and teamwork solutions.
- Initiate communication with branch operations and sales at multiple levels to manage, prevent, and eliminate aging and slow-moving merchandise
- 2 years’ experience in Purchasing or Inventory Management.
- Demonstrate good judgment in performing job duties while satisfying multiple conflicting priorities that are tied directly to key company metrics - for example maintaining proper inventory level, minimal freight, minimal aged inventory, maximum stock availability
- Strong sense of urgency - ability to react to changing priorities and ability to recognize key priorities and respond appropriately and multi-task while handling large volume of overlapping weekly and on demand activities.
- Requires strong verbal, written and persuasive communication skills with different departments to get/interpret information, bring a positive team-helping approach, work constructively, understand/determine the best match of needs to available options, resolve problems, encourage cooperation, give direction, and escalate where required. This is required for departments as different as sales and operations, where their roles as requesters and providers may change depending on the situation.
- Ability to initiate requests from different departments and levels for actions and cooperation.
- Basic Excel Proficiency: experience building, changing formulas, and formatting.
- Strong proficiency and accuracy in math.
- RFMS experience desired but not required.
- Flooring Background desired but not required.
