The primary responsibility of the Receiving Manager is to oversee the inbound shipment of goods and materials—particularly stone products such as granite, quartz, and marble—and ensure timely and accurate receipt of these products into the warehouse. The Receiving Manager coordinates with various departments to maintain accurate inventory, manage scheduling, and uphold strict safety and compliance standards.
Essential Functions
- Team Management: Supervise and manage the receiving team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Policies & Procedures: Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate receipt of inbound shipments, especially heavy stone slabs and related materials.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with purchasing, inventory control, and shipping to manage the flow of goods into and out of the warehouse.
- Inventory Control: Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy for granite, quartz, marble, and other materials.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all incoming shipments, verify details, and report any discrepancies, particularly for high-value stone products.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Oversee the scheduling of inbound shipments, coordinating with carriers and logistics providers to ensure on-time and efficient delivery of stone materials.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements for all inbound shipments, including proper handling and storage of heavy stone slabs.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience (Required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of relevant job experience (preferably in receiving, warehouse, or logistics involving heavy materials)

- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate working knowledge of internet-based tools, inventory and project management software, spreadsheet and word processing software, and order processing systems.
- Safety Awareness: Understand and enforce safety procedures related to handling heavy and fragile materials like granite, quartz, and marble.
