SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM MANAGER
(THORACIC CANCER STAGING/CLINICAL SCIENCE)
Job Summary:
The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is the premier international membership association for physicians, researchers, and medical professionals, who are dedicated to conquering lung and thoracic cancers worldwide in the 21st century. Our Scientific Affairs team is seeking a Scientific Program Manager to join this meaningful scientific mission. Day to day, the Scientific Program Manager will primarily support the 10th edition of IASLC’s lung cancer, thymic cancer, and mesothelioma staging projects and will also help support the Multidisciplinary Clinical Science Committee and associated research projects.
This full-time, exempt, supervisory position reports to the Chief Science Officer, and works a hybrid schedule based in our Denver, Colorado office.
In this role, you will:
• Work with IASLC membership to develop and implement scientific programs, research projects, and education to advance collaborative science in thoracic cancer.
• Serve as the staff liaison to the Staging and Prognostic Factors Working Group and associated subcommittees and advisory groups, providing project management and administrative support.
• Manage the entire life cycle of the 10th Edition Staging project in collaboration with IASLC volunteer leadership, including development of clinical protocols, identification of sites, execution of data sharing agreements, data collection, analysis, status reporting to leadership and stakeholders, results/deliverable dissemination, and program evaluation.
• Supervise and mentor the Scientific Affairs Coordinator to effectively meet goals and support Staging project outcomes.
• Support other committees and advisory groups (such as the Multidisciplinary Clinical Science Committee) providing project management and administrative support as needed.
• Communicate scientific and medical content to a variety of audiences including healthcare professionals, scientists, and people with lung cancer and their loved ones.
• Support the preparation, writing, and review of scientific and medical content for grants, proposals, website, project materials, manuscripts, and publications.
• Help develop, execute, and manage budgets, contracts, and data use agreements.
• Proactively implement organizational and project management tools and software to increase work efficiency and standardize departmental processes and workflows.
• Provide exceptional member service and overall support to IASLC members, partners, and stakeholders.
• Attend and participate in scientific activities at IASLC-sponsored meetings and events, as assigned.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• A deep commitment to the mission of IASLC and compassion for those living with a thoracic cancer diagnosis.
• Graduate degree in a scientific, public health, or healthcare field; advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or relevant education) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in a project management or healthcare administration role.
• Scientific or medical background or knowledge in lung cancer or oncology strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple scientific committees and/or projects, including all deliverables, including project timelines, schedules, and documentation.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Must be able to travel domestically and internationally, as needed, in support of business needs.
• Strong multicultural awareness and sensitivity with ability to build cross-cultural consensus.
• Multilingual literacy/fluency and/or international experience a plus.

• Compensation. $75,000-85,000 annually, depending on applicable work experience and education.
• Hybrid work schedule. Employees are based in our Denver office and are allowed to work remotely 2-3 days per week.
