What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employment Coordinator position at International Center of Kentucky , Owensboro Office?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Employment Coordinator will be responsible for identifying job opportunities, advocating for refugee employment, and providing support to both employers and refugees throughout the hiring process
- Develop and implement strategies to engage employers in hiring refugees, including outreach campaigns, networking events, and employer presentations
- Cultivate relationships with businesses of varying sizes and industries to create a diverse range of job opportunities for refugees
- Educate employers about the benefits of hiring refugees, including access to a diverse talent pool and opportunities for cultural enrichment within their organizations
- Collaborate with the Case Management Team in client assessment, employment plan development, and establishing a system for job readiness activities.
- Oversees client job search and assists in locating positions that meet the employment goals, including referrals to appropriate openings, assistance with the interview and application process, assistance with pre-employment requirements such as obtaining necessary equipment, completing a physical exam, drug test, making childcare and transportation arrangements, etc.
- Provide job orientations for clients.
- Coordinate training programs and workshops for employers to foster understanding and cooperation in the workplace
- Maintain accurate records of employer partnerships and generate reports and metrics to demonstrate the impact of refugee employment initiatives to inform future strategies
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field is preferred.
- Prior professional experience in refugee resettlement, social work, counseling, community organizing, human services, or related specialties preferred.
- Familiarity with refugee resettlement and trauma-informed care is preferred.
- Compassion, empathy, and a commitment to diversity and humility of each client with whom you partner.
- Experience with low-income, limited English, and vulnerable immigrant populations preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office is preferred.
