Job Description
To meet ongoing product demands, our Thomson, IL facility is hiring for Material Handlers. In this position you will be responsible to:
- Operate, maintain, perform general preventative maintenance and clean all packaging equipment
- Properly handle, package, and label finished product
- Obtain required samples of finished product during packaging operations for lab testing
- Place finished goods in warehouse racks, complete all required paperwork and dispose of waste
Material Handlers require the ability to understand and follow plant quality and environmental policies, applicable procedures and work instructions, safety procedures, GMP and sanitation rules. Good communication, basic computers skills, fork truck operation, lifting up to 55lbs, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ability to work overtime on short notice is needed.
The position requires working a 12-hour day shift, alternate work schedule (AWS) which is a rotating pattern that includes working 7 of 14 days and every other weekend, with 8 hours of built-in overtime every 2 weeks.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial, warehouse or military
Pre-employment drug screen and background check required.
