Our Fostoria, OH warehouse is eagerly seeking a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to join our team!
Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operation, ensuring efficient inventory management, maintaining a safe work environment, and leading a team of warehouse associates/shipping & receiving associates. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to optimize warehouse processes and support company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and participate in daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of goods.
- Oversee shipping schedule and plan warehouse tasks accordingly
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and audits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate warehouse staff, promoting teamwork and productivity.
- Monitor and enforce safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with other departments, including logistics, purchasing, and customer service, to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.
- Track key performance metrics and provide reports to management.
- Resolve warehouse-related issues and address operational challenges in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- 3 years of experience in operating a forklift.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource systems (ERP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent attention to detail
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations, and ability to follow all safety procedures and requirements of the company, including use of PPE.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work in a physically demanding environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly rate, $20 per hour or more, depending on experience.
