Responsibilities:
- Safely operate wood working tools including pneumatic nail and staple gun, multiple mechanical saw machines and strapping devices
- Review multiple system generated reports to schedule workflow priorities within the Crating department
- Maintain logs for production, product usage and inventory levels
- Identify areas for process improvement and assist in implementation of strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity
- Transport goods to other workstations as required
- Exhibit self-management and teamwork
- Follow the attendance policy of the department
- Follow all safety procedures and policies
- Design and build custom-sized crates as needed
- Prior experience with air tools including nail gun, saws and various power tools
- Computer skills including email, updating production logs, production reporting, etc.
- Unload lumber and place in assigned racking
- Hard working and self-managed with good communication and organizational skills
- Previous experience in woodworking or construction that would relate to this position
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong math and related computer skills such as Microsoft Excel
- Self-managed and motivated individual who can work well within a team environment
- Understands the value of excellent customer service
- Ability to perform essential physical job requirements which include lifting 25 to 50 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to work weekends and overtime as needed
- Willing to cross train for other Shipping functions
- Organize storage of crating material and maintaining housekeeping in the work area
- Forklift certification or prior experience operating a forklift
- Familiarity with Oracle and Kewill operating systems
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
